Author Profile: Karim El Dana

Hello! My name is Karim El Dana, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, majoring in Biology, Health and Society, along with Francophone Studies. Ever since I was young, the natural world has held a special place in my heart. Camping in the mountains of Lebanon as a kid, whilst discovering the wildlife helped shape me into the person I am today. Along with Arabic, French was one of my maternal languages growing up, and I felt that diving deeper into French culture as I grew up was necessary to maintain my roots to my home country. As I matured, my passions broadened, leading me towards Biology and French. Now my academic pursuits include delving into microbiology, unraveling the secrets of the microscopic world around us.
